Aprima Medical Software, a leading developer of electronic health record (EHR), practice management (PM) and revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions for medical practices, today announced that it has been recognized by Everything Channel’s CRN Magazine as one of the Top Health Care Vendors. This first annual list recognizes the most important health care technology vendors with indirect sales channel programs or direct relevance to the channel. According to IDC Health Insights, growth in implementation of electronic medical records and health information exchange technologies will help to spur the worldwide growth of health care IT spending over the next three years to more than $13 billion. As a result, these technologies are fast becoming a hugely lucrative, value-added play for solution providers—and value-added resellers (VARs) need to identify the ideal vendors with which they can partner on health care opportunities.

As excitement over health care IT flourishes, many solution providers are still unsure how to get started or where they can seek health care IT resources and education. CRN’s first annual list recognizes the key players in the health care space with indirect channel programs or direct relevance to the channel, bringing to the forefront 100 health care vendors that solution providers should know.

Final selections were made by CRN’s editorial team. These 100 health care vendors were culled from industry research, interviews with numerous solution providers and analysts, and CRN editors’ knowledge specific to the health care space.

Aprima has seen great value in utilizing VARs as part of its business growth strategy; the leading EHR vendor currently conducts 30 percent of its sales through VAR channels. Aprima’s VARs, who are local to the practices, have extensive experience in healthcare, with services ranging from installation and configuration of software to development of interfaces and training of staff. These services enhance Aprima’s overall offerings and allow the company to increase adoption rates of EHRs among various physician communities.

“Doctors Administrative Solutions (DAS) has been a reseller of Aprima along with products from some of the other vendors on the Top 100 list. Without a doubt, one of the biggest advantages of working with Aprima is that their EHR is doing things today that their competitors won’t be getting to for 18 months,” said David Schlaifer, president and CEO of Doctors Administrative Solutions, an Aprima Value-Added Reseller. “Perhaps even more important to us as a reseller, Aprima has consistently demonstrated a rare and refreshing level of integrity, customer-centric focus and commitment to being a true partner, which causes them to stand out among the crowd.”

“These vendors are offering innovative solutions to serve the growing demands of the healthcare market. We applaud them for helping customers and VARs solve some of the most difficult IT problems in a growing market,” said Kelley Damore, Vice President, Editorial Director, Everything Channel.

“Aprima is proud to receive this honor from Everything Channel and recognize its value-added reseller network,” said Michael Nissenbaum, CEO and President of Aprima. “The reseller channel is an extremely important piece of our overall company strategy. Our dedicated VARs allow us to offer our award-winning EHR/PM solution to practices throughout the United States that aim to achieve ‘Meaningful Use’ status and qualify for government-allocated stimulus funds.”

Aprima’s template-free, content rich EHR software enables providers to follow their own protocols. Its adaptive learning feature speeds adoption and deployment, a critical capability as medical practices seek to meet “Meaningful Use” standards for government stimulus fund reimbursements. Furthermore, as a single EHR + PM application built on a single database, Aprima affords users with the fastest access to clinical and financial data. AprimaRCM addresses practices’ needs for seasoned financial expertise by delivering insight that helps practices collect every dollar they earn. Aprima’s licensing plans make sense for everyone from a solo rural practitioner to a multi-specialty urban group.
