As cold and flu season begins, Germ General Corporation is launching a new website containing an antimicrobial product line that will send those germs packing. The e-commerce business offers a variety of products for home, work, and personal use that are made of the highest quality antibacterial solutions to kill germs and keep them away.

Steve Hunter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, founder and CEO of Germ General, started the organization to offer a one source solution for high quality germ-killing products designed for today’s lifestyle. The company’s products include items such as lip balm, hand sanitizer, sprays and disinfectants, and they promise to work longer and harder than leading brands.

“These products are made of natural ingredients, which are more effective in killing germs, so their germ-killing capability lasts longer,” Hunter said.

After one application, Germ General’s XMICROBE Antimicrobial will continually kill germs for 90 days. The product is designed to reduce the amount of germ transfer, keeping consumers healthier. One 16 ounce bottle of XMICROBE Antimicrobial concentrate will make a total of 160 ounces, or 10 quarts of highly effective germ killing product. Hunter believes there is a security factor in knowing the product continues to work for 90 days after one application.

“It looks expensive because it’s sold in concentrate, but it makes 10 quarts. So when you get down to it, it’s pennies per application. It’s no more expensive than other products sold on the market today. It’s a long-lasting product that is priced competitively,” Hunter said.

Another product Germ General markets is MyClyns Germ Protection Spray. According to Hunter, this product is used effectively by EMTs and First Responders. The product can be used to spray cuts, and is alcohol free, so there’s no stinging or irritation to the wound.

“This is a good product to keep in your car or take camping,” Hunter said. “You don’t have to worry about getting it in your eyes, it’s safe for your children, and it is still killing germs.”

With ingredients such as beeswax, sunflower oil, honey, essential oils of peppermint, grapefruit, lemon and lime, Vitamin E, and rosemary extract, the lip balm has received positive feedback from consumers. Jerri Whitters of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been using the lip balm for over a month and even gave some to her teenage daughter, thinking the product’s germ-killing feature could help keep her daughter healthier during cold and flu season.

“When I heard about the product I thought, ‘Who shares skin care products more than teenage girls?’ so I gave some to my daughter. The lip balm goes on evenly, smoothly, and coats very well. It lasted nicely while eating and drinking, and the mint aftertaste made my lips feel wonderfully refreshed,” Whitters said.

The ingredients are part of what makes Germ General’s products unique as they are alcohol free and made of all natural products. The hand sanitizers come in foam and spray forms, and are aloe-based. As promised by other Germ General products, the hand sanitizers last longer than others of its kind on the market.

“The hand sanitizer will continue killing germs for three hours instead of just 20 minutes. It gives you security as you’re out and about. We’re doing all we can to keep germs away,” Hunter said.
