GiSTEQ’s TripBook Gets a Helpful Update

Company’s unique GPS device receives an update for 2010 that improves it on a large scale.

The GiSTEQ company, which can be found online at http://www.gisteq.com, has managed to take a piece of technology and to make it better. Only this time instead of finding innovative uses for GPS, the company has actually managed to upgrade one of their own products.

The GiSTEQ TripBook is a product that has received a great deal of attention since it was unveiled. This product is, in its most basic form, a way to track mileage. The unit plugs into a unique adaptor that goes directly into your car’s power outlet. When it is plugged in, it connects to satellites in order to locate exactly where you are. Unlike other car GPS units, however, the TripBook doesn’t give you a visual on your current location. Instead, it actually records where you’ve been and tracks all of the miles that you’ve logged since you plugged the unit into your car. Users can then take the unit to a computer and, using the included software, can actually download, in IRS compliant forms, the travel that they have accrued.

“The newest product update for the TripBook doesn’t change what the product does, but instead makes it better. Now the product provides a much more comprehensive mileage report and connects to the satellite much faster, giving our customers the ability to just plug it in and drive,” said Eric Liu, president of GiSTEQ Corp.

The update to the TripBook includes a firmware update and a software update. The firmware update provides for improved GPS accuracy and stability, while the software update focuses more on providing a very thorough mileage report. The update also includes AGPS support. This support shortens the amount of time that the product takes to connect to a satellite from the 2 – 3 minutes that it used to take to under 10 seconds. The company says that customers who purchase the new TripBook will actually be able to plug the system into their vehicle and to start driving immediately, without having to wait for the unit to connect to a satellite.

The company is confident that consumers who previously purchased the TripBook will enjoy the updates to the product, and believe that, thanks to the new updates, customers will find even more uses for this unique GPS product. TripBook is available now at http://www.gisteq.com/tripbook.
