Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) November 18, 2010
BroadPoint Technologies (http://www.broadpoint.net), the leading provider of business management software solutions, today announced that they have been awarded the Oracle Migration/Implementation and Integration Services contract for the Library Information Systems Transition at the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO).
“GPO wanted to replace their legacy library system with modern commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technology allowing for portal-based self-service and integration with their Oracle E-Business Suite Federal Financials system. GPO chose BroadPoint due to our past project successes and our technical approach for this project,” said Todd Hager, BroadPoint’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Government Group.
The current library system in use at the GPO manages critical information used to administer the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). GPO has a vision to implement a system that produces much less paper, is less complicated and increases efficiency, all of which will increase the efficiency of the FDLP. These improvements will accommodate increasing volumes of resources and users, as well as changing technology and requirements. In addition, other new system capabilities such as single sign-on, vendor management and shipment tracking fully integrated to the core financial system will help simplify day-to-day operations for GPO staff.
