Vineyard Wine Cellars designs and builds custom wine features throughout Texas and one of their premium suppliers of custom wood racking is Stellar Cellars of Portland. They work together to design and build gorgeous custom wine rooms for experienced collectors using a variety of hardwoods and a patented manufacturing process that uses dowels instead of nails. Stellar Cellars uses woods Chain of Custody (CoC) certified suppliers and is now offering the sustainable product from Natures Composites.
This unique agri-fiber polymer composite is made from all recyclable and renewable sources and is durable and long lasting. “Terra products™ are as easy to work with as natural wood and if necessary, it can be interchanged with traditional wood . These products can be cut, drilled, routed, glued, stained and nailed using standard hardware and tools. Virtually all fasteners are compatible with Terra Products. ™,” said Johnny Wright of Natures Composite.
"Wine racks made from Terra products™ allow us to provide our clients with an individualized wine room that is both gorgeous and environmentally friendly,” said Gary Daniels, President of Vineyard Wine Cellars of Texas. “Our green efforts continue from the wood down to the finish which is biodegradable, non-ozone depleting, non-toxic and hand crafted from a variety of oils and other natural ingredients."
Jost Lunstroth, of Vineyard Wine Cellars in Houston, said, "Karen Lantz, an architect in Houston, told me about the product and we quickly built some test racks to make sure the product was both visually acceptable and strong enough. Wine racks have to be strong because a bottle of wine weighs about 3.5 pounds so it is not unusual for the racking to literally hold a ton of wine.”
"This product is strong enough to meet our technical standards and is also attractive so we are comfortable using it for our custom wine racks,” says Ron Cowan of Stellar Cellars.
