On the heels of what former Alaskan Governor and Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has called a "Political Earthquake," a new documentary highlighting unprecedented media bias during the 2008 presidential election is widely available on VOD platforms across North America.
Palin, a staunch critic of mainstream media, has come out in strong support of the documentary both on-air and online saying, “It’s not about me and whether you like my politics or not. You can push all that aside, and just pay attention to what that message is in this documentary, and that is that things have got to change for the better in the state of journalism. Otherwise, you know, it could be part of a demise of our democracy if that cornerstone erodes.”
Filmmaker and conservative commentator John Ziegler spent over a year working on his documentary Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted (http://www.mediamalpracticemovie.com/re-release.asp). Commenting on the VOD release Ziegler noted, "We're thrilled that this important film will be available in more than 50 million homes and confident that once people see the facts for themselves, they'll recognized the inherent bias in mainstream media."
Ziegler's film explains why the 2008 election was historic in many ways. For the first time, the vast majority of mainstream media decided to openly back one candidate. Media Malpractice tells the entire story of this precedent-setting and dangerous media reality. In just four years, Barack Obama went from being a little-known State Senator, to being elected President of the United States. This film explores the role of the media in facilitating the victory that shocked the world. While the media did everything they could to elevate Obama, they took a very different view of John McCain's VP nominee Governor Sarah Palin. With an interview of Palin done exclusively for this film, Media Malpractice examines the real story behind many of the media-created perceptions used in a blatant attempt to destroy her credibility. The documentary has been praised by Palin and endorsed by Rush Limbaugh.
Starting today the documentary will be available to consumers across North America with cable operators and online platforms including: Amazon VOD, Apple iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewMovie?id=401018283&s=143441), AT&T U-Verse, Best Buy/Cinema Now, Blockbuster on Demand (http://www.blockbuster.com/download/catalog/movieDetails/444425), Cablevision, Charter, Cogeco, Comcast, Cox, DirecTV VOD, DISH IPVOD, Insight, Mediacom, RCN, Rogers, Shaw, Sony PlayStation (http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/movies/media-malpractice-2010.html), Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon FiOS.
