One of Nine IBM Business Partners Worldwide to Receive Distinction

Summa, a provider of IT consulting and system integration services and applied industry solutions, is one of the first IBM Business Partners to achieve IBM Software Value Plus Industry Authorization.

The new authorization program is focused on select business partners with specific experience in key industries. Summa was invited to participate based on its successful track record delivering value enabling, application and integration solutions in the Healthcare Industry.

The announcement was made last week during IBM’s Smarter Industries Symposium in Barcelona, Spain. Jeremy Smith, Practice Manager of Healthcare Solutions for Summa attended the Symposium to share insights with other industry leaders and accept this recognition.

Summa's Healthcare Solutions Practice focuses on applied Healthcare industry solutions with specific concentration on system interoperability, clinical and administrative workflow, user experience, data management and middleware implementation. Summa has delivered services to a wide array of healthcare organizations from large integrated health systems, to community and specialty hospitals, payers, life sciences companies and healthcare software product vendors.

“We are honored to receive the distinction of being an industry-authorized partner for IBM in Healthcare,” said Audrey Dunning, CEO of Summa. “Earlier this year, we developed a focused Healthcare Practice in response to increased market demand and our long history of success in this important industry sector”.

Summa recently unveiled a provider focused, Healthcare Interoperability Assessment that addresses the foundational challenges necessary to meet meaningful use requirements associated with ARRA HITECH Act, legislation which is designed to increase and reward the usage of electronic medical records by physicians and hospitals.

“Clients are looking to IBM and its Business Partners to help them address industry-specific issues,” said Sandy Carter, vice president, IBM Software Business Partners. “The new IBM Software Value Plus Industry Authorization demonstrates to clients that Summa has deep industry expertise and technologies to help them achieve their business goals.”
