Universal Windows Direct, Inc Recognized by Ernst & Young as Regional Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2010 Strategic Growth Forum

November 17, 2010– William Barr and Michael Strmac, founders of Universal Windows Direct, Inc, were honored this year at the Ernst& Young Strategic Growth Forum as Regional Entrepreneurs of the Year.

Barr and Strmac joined 1,300 of America’s top CEOs, entrepreneurs, advisors, investors and other senior business leaders in Palm Springs, CA for the 2010 Ernst& Young Strategic Growth Forum, one of the country’s most prestigious gatherings for high-growth, market-leading companies. Keynote speakers included Bill Ford, Executive Chair, Ford Motor Company and Dr. Deepak Chopra, Co-Founder of the Chopra Center for Wellness. This invitation-only event concludes with the 23rd annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards, hosted by TV talk show host, Jay Leno.

The Strategic Growth Forum inspired William Barr to join Junior Achievement, the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. “If we learned one thing from this event it is that we have a social duty as entrepreneurs to continue to give back to our communities," said William Barr President and CEO, Universal Windows Direct. The company remains involved in Habitat for Humanity, and Make a Wish foundations “Adopt a wish” program. Additionally, Barr has been in the Big Brothers and Sisters Summit County chapter for 9 years.
