Moving house is an expensive business but there’s no point in spending more than you need to
(PRWeb UK) November 20, 2010
Moving home is widely reported as being one of the most stressful things that any of us do, but what what is the price of alleviating the pressure?
Removals comparison website The House Removals Company has commissioned a report to find out the cost of removals and the results show that it really does pay to shop around.
For example the lowest cost of a moving a three-bed house from Bristol to Birmingham (with the removals company doing the packing) was as low as £564, but some companies were found to be charging up to £1,057 (nearly double) for exactly the same service.
The cost of moving abroad is even more diverse. Shipping the belongings from a two-bed house in the UK to Spain costs anything from £695 to £2,900. But perhaps the most incredible statistic is that the cost of a move to Australia can cost anything from £2,224 to £6,168.
The House Removals Company is a removals comparison website and specialises in matching movers to removals companies. Founded in 2008 the website now handles around 1,000 enquiries a month.
Commenting on the report, Jason Nevin, Director of the site’s owners – Jaze Technology Ltd*, said: “Moving house is an expensive business but there’s no point in spending more than you need to. The range of the quotes in the report highlights why it is so important to shop around and compare removal estimates before you commit to a service, don’t just go with the first one in the telephone directory. Using a simple price comparison site, like The House Removals Company, cuts down on the legwork and can really save you money.” The full report can be found at http://www.thehouseremovalscompany.co.uk/articles/international_and_UK_removal_costs.aspx
