Nicole Cox was named Chief Operating Officer of Small Business Financing Leader, Guidant Financial

On November 4, Guidant Financial Group named Vice-President Nicole Cox, as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Included on Inc. Magazine’s list of America’s fastest growing private small businesses for three years in a row, Guidant Financial helps entrepreneurs invest their retirement funds into buying or funding their own small business or franchise.

In her new position, Cox is tasked with growing revenue, increasing operational efficiencies, grooming company leadership, and overseeing major company initiatives.

Guidant co-founder, David Nilssen commented, “Few companies can say that, regardless of economic challenges, they helped fund thousands of businesses and create tens of thousands of jobs. Nicole will be instrumental in driving organizational change and creating initiatives that raise industry standards and enable more Americans to open small businesses.”

Guidant co-founder Jeremy Ames expects Fox to continue her focus on the customer experience and to deliver even higher client satisfaction with her passion for delivering consistent value to customers. Nicole’s commitments to helping people find success as small business owners has been a constant force in her career at Guidant.

Ames says this promotion reflects the company’s conviction that no external candidate could translate Guidant’s vision into tangible action with the same success and passion Cox has shown. He reports that Cox’s restructuring of the company’s recordkeeping operations resulted in a 30% efficiency improvement and increased client retention. In addition, he stated that Cox’s changes to the technology infrastructure saved the company “hundreds of thousands of dollars” annually.

“Nicole is relentless and fearless when approaching new problems, and she frequently conquers new grounds of achievement,” says Ames. “In addition, she has an incredible heart for people and reflects the kind of ‘servant leadership’ we want to see from a Guidant executive.”

Cox came to Guidant after serving as the Director of Customer Care for ING Direct ShareBuilder where she held her Series 7 & 63. While attending Gonzaga University, Cox entered the financial services arena where she has focused her 15 year career. Cox says she is excited about capitalizing on Guidant’s growth potential and that she is “very proud to be a part of a formidable team that is helping rebuild the American economy one small business at a time.”
