Even hero pilot Captain Sullenberg is against the current security measures, yet the majority of voters polled by Predicto Mobile do not expect the TSA to reverse its stance in the next week.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the biggest travel day of the year. For those flying to visit their loved ones, one complication will be impossible to avoid at airports this holiday – the TSA’s institution of pat-downs and body scans. The security measures have many people crying foul as being too intimate and intrusive. Even hero pilot Captain Sullenberg is against them, yet the majority of voters polled by Predicto Mobile do not expect the TSA to reverse its stance in the next week. Says one member of the industry-leading SMS community: “Whatever needs to be done to keep us safe is what should be done.” Time will tell if the uproar eventually causes the TSA to back off from these controversial procedures.
After arriving at their destination and eating their fill of turkey and mashed potatoes, many people flock to movie theaters after their Thanksgiving meal. One of those must-see holiday flicks will be the seventh movie in the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1." The Predicto Mobile community predicted with astounding accuracy that the film would make $125 million in its opening weekend. It will be interesting to see if the boy wizard has enough magic to fend off Thanksgiving weekend new releases, including Christina Aguilera’s "Burlesque" and Disney’s latest animated princess tale, "Tangled."
Shoppers this weekend will be focused on trying to take advantage of sales on Black Friday. Even in the modern age of e-commerce, the Friday after Thanksgiving is still regarded as the biggest shopping day of the year, with people looking to get a head start on their Christmas shopping. Last year, Black Friday sales exceeded $10 billion.
If the spectacular sales of the video game "Call of Duty: Black Ops" are any indication, it seems likely that consumers are in a spending mood. New music releases poised to make cash registers sing are Christmas albums from "Glee," Susan Boyle and Mariah Carey. Predicto voters believe that the "Glee" kids’ and Mariah’s yuletide discs have the best chance of achieving "Call of Duty"-type numbers.
But before Christmas gifts, there are Thanksgiving events to look forward to this week. Kanye West canceled his Today show performance after the controversy caused by George W. Bush’s memoir, but is still scheduled to rock out at the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Day Parade. Since he and fellow superstar Jay-Z are frequent collaborators, Predicto voters believe that Beyonce’s better half will appear with West at the parade. One voter even predicts that Jay-Z will steal the spotlight, doing “the same thing to Kanye West that he did to Taylor Swift.”
Adding to the controversy-stuffed holiday, starlets stuck in rehab have caught the attention of sympathetic fans. Lindsay Lohan has already been denied her planned trip home to Long Island, but 71% of the Predicto Mobile community think troubled Disney star Demi Lovato should be able to leave rehab before Thanksgiving Day. According to one comment at Predicto.com, Lovato should be allowed out because being in rehab on Turkey Day is like “being in jail on New Year’s Eve!” Nevertheless, Lovato’s family is planning on going to the rehab clinic to spend the holiday with her. Only in Hollywood, right?
