Beginning on Black Friday, Squaredeal.com is giving away half of its profits during the 2010 holiday season. On its website, visitors can help choose to which charity the company will send the money.

Squaredeal.com, a company devoted to helping customers find deals, coupons, and promo codes from a wide range of stores such as Land of Nod, has chosen to give away 50% of its profits for the rest of the year. Beginning on Black Friday, the company will donate the money to two of ten finalists it has chosen.

The ten finalists are listed on the company's website and visitors have the option of selecting one in order to vote on which two charities Squaredeal.com should donate its profits to. They include Artspace, Sacramento Zoo, Scholarship America, Arboretum Foundation, and Old North Church, Boston. The American Bird Conservancy, American Indian College Fund, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Charity Navigator, and Hole in the Wall Camps are also included on the company's list of charities to vote for.

Ed Kim, Principle of Squaredeal.com, said, "It has been a difficult year for many people and businesses, and charitable giving is significantly down from a few years ago. Squaredeal.com has had a good year, so we felt the right thing to do was to give something back, and include our customers in the decision-making process, as they are the reason for our good fortune."

In choosing the ten finalists, Squaredeal.com used some basic criteria. The first was that the charity should be known for efficient use of funds. The majority of funds must be sent into programs to help in the charity's cause, not for paying its high-level staff or for fundraising. A charity of medium size was preferable, as large ones wouldn't appreciate the money nearly as much, but significant enough in size to appreciate the generous donation.

Squaredeal.com also sought charities that can follow a long-term vision, manage their money well, and are not looking for funds to pay its employees or rent. Each of the chosen entities are listed at http://www.squaredeal.com, with links to the charity sites so visitors can know what they are all about before casting a vote.

All visitors have to do is click a checkbox to select which charity they think Squaredeal.com should give to. Visit Square Deal's Holiday Giveaway to vote before midnight on December 31, 2010.
