The annual FOR THE LOVE OF LENNON concert will take place in Central Park at the Naumburg Bandshell on Sunday, December 5th at 1pm. Since 1980, fans have flocked to Central Park to remember John Lennon on the anniversary of his tragic death. Over the years it has grown into a large-scale celebration of the music that never dies.

FOR THE LOVE OF LENNON was created by New York musician and producer Michael Dustin Youree. It serves as a way to help artists collaborate on a project that benefits New York City by providing an organized sing-along to travelers and locals. For the last two years, a group of over 15 musicians played to hundreds at the famous location. This year, Youree is teaming up with NYC 501(c)3 non-profit organization Art For Progress (http://www.artforprogress.org) to expand the reach and scope of the event.

Also contributing to the event this year, visual artists Jeanne Wilkinson, Kristina Zallinger and Steven Rodrig from Art For Progress will be creating thematic works inside the bandshell.

Participating musical performers include Michael Dustin Youree, Allen Hulsey, Barry Komitor, Randy Langlois, Scott Bradlee, Monica Miller, Sara Jayne Blackmore, Charles Thurton, Steve Ujfalussy, Misha Lanin, and Claire London.
