Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 25, 2010
Connolly, Inc., an international recovery audit firm with an Audit Support Center in Wilton, Connecticut has donated refurbished laptops, food and mentoring materials to local nonprofits. The laptops will be used to support numerous programs including homework in an after school program, job training for low income adults re-entering the work force, and mobile computer labs in Norwalk public schools. The food and mentoring supplies will support ongoing programs the office is involved with.
“We believe strongly in giving back to the communities in which we live and work,” said CEO Larry Connolly. “These initiatives are ways we can help those who are struggling.”
“Your generous donation will help our scholars become even more engaged in their studies. We all sincerely thank you,” said Marylynn Clune, President, A Better Chance (ABC), Wilton.
“Each weekday, about 50 children of working parents come directly to the Y by bus to attend our afterschool program. Doing homework is an important part of the program and a computer room has been a major goal of the Y for many years. We are very grateful we can make that dream a reality with this donation,” Karen Strickland, Development Director, Wilton Family Y said.
The donations were organized by the Employee Activities Committee (EAC), a volunteer group that identifies and executes various charitable and social opportunities for the Wilton employees.
Other recipients of computers include Christian Community Action, Norwalk; Norwalk Public Schools, and Open Door Shelter, South Norwalk. Waveny Senior Center in New Canaan will receive computer donations this week. The food and mentoring supplies are in support of the Human Services Council of Norwalk’s School Based Health Center and the Norwalk Mentoring Program where many Wilton employees volunteer.
“These are excellent projects for our employees to get involved with as they are very much in keeping with our culture and values,” said Mitch Podob, Connolly HR Manager in Wilton. “Any company would be proud to have employees like these.”
Connolly employees are expected to adhere to the company’s non-negotiable values which include: Customer Service Focused, Passionate, Boundaryless, Integrity, Results Oriented, Team Player, Self Motivated, Reliable and Professional.
