Marine Industry Trade Show Dedicated to Service Technicians is Much More than a Product Expo: the 18th Annual Convention Offers 32 Hours of Technical Training

“During these turbulent times, service and support have proven to be the keys to marine businesses success and survival, because fewer people are buying new boats,” said Joseph DeMarco, founder of the Association of Marine Technicians (AMTECH).

“Our annual AMTECH trade show is dedicated to serving the service professionals,” said DeMarco. “I founded AMTECH in 1999 in response to what I saw as a need for technicians, and for those who teach, employ or do business with them, to have a professional network in which to exchange ideas and to keep current with boat maintenance. The 2011 Expo will be the 18th year that professional technicians come together for training, networking and industry updates,” DeMarco said.

AMTECH works closely with marine dealerships across North America to stay abreast of what the industry needs from their technicians. AMTECH designs the annual expo in response to those needs.

The 2011 expo, trade show and convention, to be held at the Wyo-Tech-Dayton campus, in Ormond Beach, Florida, includes 32 hours of technical hands-on training, cutting-edge product and service exhibits, relevant industry discussions on improving marine business survival and industry networking opportunities.

Current and aspiring marine service technicians or organizations that do business with them will benefit from the industry’s only expo and training convention designed for marine technicians.

The first day starts with an industry panel discussion announcing AMTECH newest professional speciality program and ends with a networking dinner. Friday kicks off 32 hours of hands-on training and concludes with the expo's trade show, which is the opportunity for technicians to learn directly from manufacturers and providers regarding current products and services. Technical workshops in specific career paths are scheduled Saturday through Monday.
