eDoctor, Inc., a web-based health IT company, and Newcrop, a SureScripts-certified e-Prescribing system, today announced a partnership to offer free e-Prescribing to enable doctors to take immediate and full advantage of federal incentives under MIPPA. The standalone e-Prescribing Software also comes with an optional eDoctor’s proprietary “Live Data Syncing” middleware that will increase practice efficiency and save labor costs by eliminating data double entry.
Lawrence Susnow, MD, CEO amd Chief Medical Officer of Newcrop, LLC and Co-Chair of eDoctor’s Medical Advisory Board said, “Through this partnership, healthcare practitioners will be able to utilize the NewCropRx e-Prescribing system and eDoctor’s Health IT Platform quickly and easily, enabling them to begin working toward the 25 Medicare prescriptions requirement to qualify for the MIPPA 2% Medicare reimbursements.”
“I qualified the first day I implemented the eDoctor system in my office,” said Dr. Ingrid Chung, an internist from Virginia, and Co-Chair of eDoctor’s Medical Advisory Board. “Frankly, this is a no-brainer. Rather than struggling to see if your practice can absorb both the cost and the staff time of implementing a full-blown EMR, do this today.”
Since rolling out the standalone e-Prescribing system in a selective pilot program for the past two months, the response has been overwhelming with doctors signing up from across the country including Calfifornia, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Maryland and Virgina. Doctors also responded positively to the implementation of Apple’s® iPad® in the eDoctor e-prescribing program.
This marks a major step for eDoctor's Health IT Platform which plans to roll out in the next few months a series of practice peripherals that will dramatically increase efficiency, save money and increase revenue.
“The vision is to simplify and enhance the management of healthcare practice environments, enabling doctors to deliver better results for their patients and for their bottomline,” said Steve Kang, President of eDoctor, Inc.
