After months and months of researching Malaysian online trends, classifieds social network, Neezz.com, goes live to a simple yet memorable launch celebration today. Neezz.com, the first classifieds social network here in Malaysia, is well set to tap into the growing market of internet savvy, 20 to 50 somethings; where time is of the essence and convenience is key.
More than 30 guests, including celebrity personalities; Mr Abbas Saad, professional footballer turned football pundit; Miss Rina Omar, TV personality, emcee, and wildlife conservationist; and members of the One Buck Short band, rising stars in the rock music industry, attended the launch event held at Ecoba Restaurant in Damansara Perdana.
Developed by co-founders of Neezz.com, (Saleem Berbar, Hakeem Labiod, Fareed Amiour, Nadeer Habrih and Erik Gharbi), the website portal is a combination of all the features that one can find on a normal classifieds site, together with the features that a user can find in a social networking site. When visitors come to the site, they will immediately find that they are not immersed in a stunning 3D multi-verse; but rather, a simple, yet user-friendly site that enable users to post information on any items that they would like to buy and sell, as well as interact with their own network of friends via chat, video and messaging.
The team also includes 7 sports personnalities, as investors and brand endorsers, Sebastien Squillaci (Footballer- Arsenal FC), Frederic Kanoute (Footballer- Sevilla FC), Frederic Michalak (Rugbyman - Stade Toulousain), Nicolas Dieuze, Laurent Courtois, Sylvain N'diaye and Alex Geijo.
In his welcoming remarks, Chief Executive Officer and spokesperson for Neezz.com, Mr Saleem Berbar, says, “We wanted to bring some fresh ideas into the online classifieds advertisement sphere and with a unique combination of classifieds, information-sharing features, messaging and live chat; we are well on the way towards achieving just that.”
To celebrate their debut launch here in Malaysia, Neezz.com is also launching an online charity initiative where users will be able to do their bit for charity by purchasing items that have been donated by celebrities or well-known personalities through Neezz.com.
To kick-off this charity initiative, the present six celebrities - Mr Abbas Saad, Miss Rina Omar and members of the One Buck Short band– showcased their donated items to the guests. The donated items included a signed football and jersey from Abbas Saad; a sentimental rock t-shirt, jacket and handmade locket and ring set from Rina Omar, as well as members of One Buck Short.
Users may be able to start making their purchases toward these donated items from December 1 onwards and proceeds will be contributed to the PDK Puncak Jalinan Kasih, a community-based charity rehabilitation centre located in Batang Kali, Selangor, accommodating physically-handicapped children.
“We aim to raise as much money as we can to help the children from the PDK Puncak Jalinan Kasih home through this charity initiative, therefore, we’re urging celebrities out there to come forward and donate their own special personalized items or memorabilia for a good cause,” says Mr Saleem Berbar.
When asked to share their marketing plans moving forward, Neezz.com commented that apart from their commitment to helping Malaysians in need via their online features, Neezz.com will also be looking at giving their users a more holistic experience such as expanding the suite of features available as well as forming symbiotic partnerships with content providers.
Having identified an emerging demographic of users who, according to online research studies, are keen to engage more in online activities, such as the buying and selling of items, casual chats, video uploads and downloads, sharing of moments through pictures and videos; Neezz.com aims to aggressively align their service portfolio and marketing plans to meet this demand.
“At the moment in time, users will not only be able to post up information on items that they want to sell off, but they are also able to post up information on items that they’ve been looking for. With the built-in social network features, users are able to share this information immediately with their family, friends and other Neezz.com users,” adds Mr Saleem.
Following the predicted growth in mobile-application services, Neezz.com gets in the mix by allowing users to also be able to conveniently access the site, at anytime and anywhere via their hand phones; through their mobile Neezz.com application feature.
First-time users of Neezz.com will find themselves pleasantly surprised. With the easy sign-up steps and simplicity of the features, it is definitely a great break from time-taxing, social networking sites that has been dominated by privacy control settings.
