Cari Trapp, a Wisconsin single mother of three who succeeded in changing her life by losing an astounding 220 pounds in 18 months naturally, will be featured in an upcoming episode of the nationally syndicated TV show “The Dr. Oz Show” on Friday, November 19th, 2010.

Cari’s remarkable life-altering story began in 2007. After several years of being overweight (her maximum weight was 394) and having to cope with several health issues relating to her weight, her last straw was a visit to the dentist’s office. According to Cari, “I was with my children at an appointment and when it was our turn to see the dentist, I stood up and realized that chair was stuck to my butt. I needed assistance to remove it. It was the shock I needed to send me into a clear mindset.”

Soon after, Cari visited her nurse practitioner who started her on a supervised low-calorie diet and encouraged Cari to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. She soon started walking and within five months she had lost 100 pounds from her starting weight of 394. “I was ready to conquer the world and anything in it!! I was no longer eating unhealthy meals…I was eating proteins, 6-9 servings of fruits and vegetables, grains wheat, water-based soups and other healthy things.”

Currently, Carrie has maintained her total weight loss of 220 pounds for more than a year. She now teaches group fitness, works at several gyms including a fitness center exclusive for woman, and will be touring the country giving motivational seminars to women who like her, need to lose weight not just for their health, but for their children’s sake too. Cari stresses that the key for success is to start slow and set short-term goals. Once those goals are accomplished, move on to the next step. “I know it’s not easy. Some days I get up and get all my exercise in before anyone else is even up in the household. But I hold myself accountable ---no one else can do that for you,” remarked Cari.
