Unity Law has been formed to provide a specialist service for victims of industrial disease, clinical negligence and work-related injuries. The practice commenced trading at the end of November, and has ambitious plans to carve out a niche in the Legal Services Act landscape.
Chris Fry is the ex-Partner and Head of Industrial Diseases at large Sheffield practice, Wake Smith. He is current President of the Sheffield Law Society, a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. With extensive experience in both high- and low-value claims, he has been involved in a large number of high- profile national cases including the ground-breaking Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Deafness Litigation and, at the time, the highest known individual awards for 'Vibration White Finger' in the South Yorkshire area.
Unity Law is taking Eclipse's market-leading Proclaim Personal Injury system, and is also implementing Proclaim Accounts to form a seamlessly-integrated Practice Management solution.
Chris Fry comments on his decision to implement Proclaim:
"There is set to be a seismic change in the legal services landscape, and this will bring a range of opportunities for those willing to embrace them. In creating Unity Law, I intend to cement a position of real expertise in a huge range of injury litigation. Not just in low-value claims, but in complex multi-track cases that have a life-changing effect for claimants.
"Proclaim has a superb reputation in the marketplace, and I see it as the system of choice for firms competing post-Legal Services Act. The system will form a solid foundation for Unity Law's growth and success!"
