While most people are concerned with shopping this time of year, Kars4Kids sees this as the season of the most serious needs.

Concerned with an increased demand for the services it provides, Kars4Kids, the national car donation organization, has announced a new Gift Card program. The charity is now accepting gift cards from any merchant and any denomination.
“While most people are concerned with shopping this time of year, we see this as the season of the most serious needs,” said Robert Gray, Kars4Kids campaign coordinator. “The lesser fortunate people in our communities are reminded daily of what they don’t have, and this happens just as the weather is turning colder. It’s an irony that our program directors must deal with. Consequently, we are sending out more gift packages than ever before, and attempting to reach out to even more children.”
Responding to these increased demands, Kars4Kids is offering a wider array of potential donors the opportunity to help maintain their important programs by donating gift cards. “Lots of people realize that they still have gift cards from last year sitting around,” said Gray. “By donating these unused cards, donors make a lasting difference to a child in need.”
According to a recent survey, nearly $10 billion in gift cards go to waste every year. “Over 23 million consumers still have gift cards from last year,” said Gray. “Rather than force themselves to buy items that aren’t really needed or desired, we’re hoping people will reach out and help us help kids.”
In many regards, Kars4Kids Gift Card program is a whole new way to give charity. People can re-gift cards as opposed to donating cash, receive the satisfaction of helping those in need, and still get a tax deduction.
