The Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF), the premier organization for the small and emerging government contractor, is pleased to announce that its Contractor Advice Forum (CAF), a unique value-added service for SECAF member companies, had a successful inaugural year.
During its first year, the CAF assisted several SECAF members with questions in the areas of government procurement, financing and HR/recruiting. Along with providing expert advice both through email and face-to-face meetings, the CAF was also instrumental in arranging introductory meetings between one member and five potential financiers.
"The CAF has been a tremendous help with assisting our company in securing financial options regarding recapitalization,” said Jay Pendarvis, president and CEO, Cerebral Solutions Incorporated. “The uniqueness and value of the CAF centers around the seasoned executives, their resources and the board's collective knowledge of the entire federal contracting landscape. Started in January 2010, the CAF was created and launched by several SECAF board members as a way of engaging the contracting community in a learning environment. Established experts serve as resources for commonly sought questions in two primary segments:
- “Ask the C-level” segments are peer-to-peer sessions entitled “Ask the CEO/President” and “Ask the CFO” that allow member CEOs and CFOs to ask questions directly to their designated CAF CEO/President and CFO Advisors.
- “Functional Best Practice” consists of CAF Advisors providing advice in the following specialty categories of expertise: Information Technology, Human Resources, Mergers & Acquisitions, Financing, and Business Partnering/Market Penetration.
