Students involved in Vanguard University’s cinema/digital media program have also created a public service announcement (PSA) for the United Nations
Pasadena, CA (Vocus) December 9, 2010
On Friday, December 10, at 7 p.m., the United Nations Association Pasadena/Foothills chapters are hosting their 3rd annual International Human Rights Day celebration. The celebration will take place at the auditorium at Pasadena High School. This event is open to the public.
In 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which has become a universal standard for both defending and promoting human rights. Every December 10th, the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is celebrated. This year, the celebration is centered on the United Nations international year of youth, dialogue and mutual understanding.
Present at this year’s event will be Pasadena mayor Bill Bogaard, as well as Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) students as keynote speakers, the PUSD district chorus, and the Pasadena City College student alliance, who have created a special video tribute.
Students involved in Vanguard University’s cinema/digital media program have also created a public service announcement (PSA) for the United Nations to help connect a young audience to making a difference in the world around them by making them more aware of such things as poverty, drought and violence through the United Nations. You can see their PSA here: http://vimeo.com/17615318.
Make sure to come out and celebrate this International Human Rights Day!
