“MTV Networks will now be able to better connect their network of websites with their users’ Facebook accounts, improving the user experience while at the same time capturing more accurate information about their audience.”

Janrain, Inc., (http://www.janrain.com) provider of the leading user management platform for the social web, today announced that MTV Networks (MTVN) has implemented Janrain Engage for social login and social sharing across its network of properties, both in the US and internationally. Visitors to MTVN websites worldwide will be able to quickly and easily login and share content – including comments, articles and video clips – with their friends on multiple social networks and sites including Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo and MySpace.

“MTV Networks’ brands – from Comedy Central to Nickelodeon to MTV – create the kind of content that sparks conversations across the world’s social networks,” said T.J. Marchetti, Vice President, Social Media Product Development, MTV Networks. “Janrain’s authentication and social publishing tools allow our users to quickly and easily engage with their friends on our sites, as well as third-party networks, around their favorite content.”

After investigating various social login and sharing offerings in the market, MTVN chose Janrain’s industry-leading Engage solution for its ease of deployment, rich abundance of features and responsive support teams. Janrain Engage has already been deployed on the following high traffic MTVN sites including TheDailyShow.com, ColbertNation.com, VH1.com, CMT.com, Atom.com, TeenNick.com, Jokes.com and MTV’s international site in Spain.

“Entertainment companies are a perfect fit with Janrain Engage because users can easily share their favorite dynamic content with friends in their social graph,” said Larry Drebes, CEO of Janrain. “MTV Networks will now be able to better connect their network of websites with their users’ Facebook accounts, improving the user experience while at the same time capturing more accurate information about their audience.”

MTV Networks joins a growing list of entertainment companies that have adopted Janrain solutions to improve user engagement rates and better connect their online properties to their users’ social networks, including Universal Music Group, EMI Music, Warner Music, Windup Records and Sonora, a Terra Networks property. Entertainment platform companies such as Topspin Media and Push Entertainment have also integrated Janrain solutions into their offerings for the social login component.

MTVN plans to extend their deployment of Janrain Engage across additional properties in 2011.
