Argos has seen an 81% increase in demand for luggage compared to this time last year, with a 52% increase in the past month alone, showing that getting away from it all and leaving the stress of entertaining behind, has become an increasingly popular option over the festive period.
Matthew Mountain, Luggage buyer at Argos says, "Christmas can be a stressful time of year, no matter how much you love the holiday. Packing a bag and getting away from it all can take away all the pressure of being host or guest and allows all the family to relax. Whether you are planning a romantic weekend away, or a family get together, Argos has a great range of luggage to suit all vacations."
The recent and forthcoming bad weather means many Brits have decided to trade in the harsh weather for some sun this winter.
Liz Bartlett from Thomson says, "Jetting off to warmer climes is one way us Brits deal with the winter blues. We've seen bookings for holidays abroad increase annually over the festive period as people make the most of the extended break from work and attempt to escape the colder conditions."
