Atlanta SEO Company Interactive Search Marketing (ISM) has developed the website and online marketing program for the New York Times Best Selling Book, Operation Dark Heart by Anthony Shaffer, The book highlights the author's career as intelligence officer and his two tours as an undercover agent in Afghanistan following the 911 attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. The book's release came under a cloud of controversy when the Pentagon allegedly burned the first 10,000 copies of the book even though the author had followed the U.S. Army's book review and release procedures. This week The New York Times reported that Shaffer had filed a lawsuit (Civil Case No. 10-2119 (D.D.C.)(RMU)) in Federal District Court in Washington, D.C. against the US Government for classifying information in Operation Dark Heart that was available through open sources which infringed on his First Amendment rights.
Interactive Search Marketing (ISM) a fast growing Atlanta SEO Company has developed the website and online marketing program for the New York Times bestselling book, Operation Dark Heart by Anthony Shaffer. The book highlights the author's career as U.S. Army intelligence officer and his two tours as an undercover agent in Afghanistan following the 911 attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. The book's release came under a cloud of controversy when the Pentagon burned the first 10,000 copies of the book at a cost of $47,300,even though the author had followed the U.S. Army's book review and release procedures. The book was released in a redacted form after an almost 4 week delay and quickly became a best seller. The book reached the New York Times Best Seller List for Hardcover Non-Fiction Books and for Political Books.
ISM built the website to provide an online web presence for the Operation Dark Heart book and its author. Visitors to the website can read excerpts from the book and link to numerous videos and news articles to see what is being reported on regarding this high profile book as well as a bio of Tony Shaffer. Website visitors can also link to the major book resellers such as Amazon, Barnes and Nobel, McMillan, Powell’s and Books-A-Million. Autographed copies of Operation Dark Heart can be ordered online and it is being highlighted as a great Christmas Gift Book.
The New York Times originally broke the story on the Department of Defense's purchase of the original printing of the book and the subsequent book burning prior to the books official debut. Since its release on September 24th the book has steadily risen in the rankings of bestselling books. The book deals with the war in Afghanistan and how a small group of dedicated intelligence officers were able control the country with a relatively small number of forces in spite of a bungling Washington bureaucracy. It also covers Shaffer's involvement in a data mining program known as Able Danger that was able to identify some of the 911 highjackers prior to the event, including the ring leader Mohammad Atta. With the breaking stories regarding the Pentagon's cover-up of its 911 Inspector General’s Report and the huge discrepancies in the 911 Commission Report, the book has seen a huge increase in sales and corresponding website traffic.
This week The New York Times reported that Shaffer had filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in Washington, D.C. against the US Government for classifying information in Operation Dark Heart that was available through open sources. The lawsuit asserts that “little to none” of the information that was redacted in the second printing of the book was classified information and that the government censorship violated Mr. Shaffer’s First Amendment rights. The government has not commented on the lawsuit.
Doug Hosmer the President of the Georgia SEO Company commented on Operation Dark Heart's online web presence. "We developed the website without realizing how popular the book would become. It gets visitors from around the world. However, we designed the website to handle large volumes of internet traffic. When Tony makes an appearance on one the major networks we have huge numbers of website visitors and the website has always been rock solid. Our online sales of autographed copies of the Operation Dark Heart have been going well and we expect an uptick in sales during the Christmas Book season. We anticipate that this book will be the first of several by Tony Shaffer and we look forward to assist in the marketing and sales of his future books."
