Mobile dating is still relatively uncharted territory. Lovestruck's USP is proximity to other singles that work close by, so we are uniquely positioned in the marketplace.

Location-aware dating site Lovestruck.com has announced that a full-experience version of its successful dating site is now available as a free-to-download app in the iTunes app store.
Brett Harding, Managing Director of Lovestruck, says, “An astonishing 17% of our Member base have an iPhone, so our objective was simple: To replicate the full functionality of the existing site in an app, so that our valued Members can arrange their coffee, lunch and after-work dates on the move – and bypass the company firewall in the process! Certainly an ambitious initial release, our app lets you join, search, flirt, pay, message and much, much more.”
Perhaps the most ground-breaking aspect of the Lovestruck iPhone app is the ability to notify you of ‘Lovestruckers’ in close proximity. Harding adds, “Picture this: You’re in a bar with your friends and your iPhone vibrates in your pocket to let you know that a Lovestrucker who meets your search criteria is either in the bar or very near it. Being able to wink or message them in real-time is the ultimate icebreaker, and is bound to make the London dating scene a whole lot more interesting.”
Juniper Research estimates that the mobile dating market will grow to nearly £900 million by 2013, something that is not lost on entrepreneur, Director and investor of Lovestruck, Hugh Chappell: “Mobile dating is still relatively uncharted territory. Lovestruck’s USP is proximity to other singles that work close by, so we are uniquely positioned in the marketplace.”
The Lovestruck iPhone app is currently only available for London, but a roll-out across major UK cities, Dublin, Hong Kong and Singapore will occur mid-March 2010.
