In response to the ongoing Gulf of Mexico oil spill crisis, the world has heard from political leaders, scientists, engineers, public officials and BP representatives, but what does the faith community have to say? Odyssey Networks collected commentary from religious leaders, academicians, clergy and students at the Fellowship in Prayer’s 60th Anniversary Conference in Princeton, NJ.

Odyssey is launching a special news section on its website (http://www.odysseynetworks.org), ‘Faith at the Gulf,’ that explores the role faith is playing in the face of this catastrophe. The Odyssey crew videotaped exclusive interviews on the Princeton University campus with Fr. Edward Beck, author and host of Faith Matters Now on ABC TV; Rev. Jan DePinto, Minster, Church of Universal Worship; Janet Haag, Executive Director of Fellowship in Prayer; Gustav Niebuhr, former New York Times reporter and current Associate Professor of Religion and the Media at Syracuse University; Heena Reiter, Rabbinic Student at ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal; and Sohaib Sultan, Princeton University Muslim Chaplain and member of the Fellowship in Prayer Board of Trustees. New segments will be available daily throughout the week at http://www.odysseynetworks.org.

In addition to the interviews at Princeton, Odyssey has dispatched a video news crew to Biloxi, Mississippi for an on-the-ground report on the local congregations and denominational representatives providing spiritual and material support to residents of the stricken area. The special reports from the Gulf will be presented on the Odyssey website in the next week.

All video can be found at http://www.odysseynetworks.org.
