Lehi, UT (Vocus) January 23, 2010
Professional Marketing International's charitable foundation, as well as its owners, management and employees, are making a donation to the victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.
In response to the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, PMI has decided to make a donation toward the relief efforts currently underway to help the nearly three million people in Haiti waiting for assistance. Because Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, with 80% of its population living under the poverty line, the aid is desparately needed.
In addition to the monies donated by the company's charitable foundation, PMI offered an easy way for its many concerned employees to donate through payroll deduction. These funds will be added to those provided by PMI and then given to the relief efforts currently underway. Final donation figures are currently not available as employees are still donating.
"At PMI we have a long standing tradition of charitable giving. Like the rest of the world, we have watched the news and images coming from Haiti in horror, and our hearts and prayers go out to the people there." said Phil Smith, President of PMI. "We felt that this was an important time to share with those in need."
PMI plans for the money to reach the earthquake victims as quickly as possible so that it can provide comfort immediately
