Provo, UT (Vocus) August 24, 2010
Vacancy.com, an apartment search and SEM website, announced the launch of a new apartment ratings and reviews feature on its property listings. The feature will mark the first apartments for rent website to allow property management companies free access to the comments being posted about their properties.
Vacancy.com’s ratings and reviews feature aims to change the multifamily industry's perspective of online reviews. “Apartment managers are used to having zero control over the reviews made about their communities. Giving them a place in the conversation turns apartment ratings into a very positive thing,” said Bryan Wade, Director of Vacancy.com. Apartment communities listed on Vacancy.com do not run the risk of having their reputation destroyed by a disgruntled resident. Managers can review the comments made about their property and choose whether to accept or decline the comment.
Vacancy.com developed the concept to encourage property managers to participate in the conversations about their property. It allows managers to make public responses to resident comments in the review section or privately respond to a comment they declined to post. “The conversation is occurring about their property online with or without them. Property managers should use the opportunity to get involved and create relationships with residents,” said Wade.
Vacancy.com encourages residents who visit the site to rate and review their community. The ratings consist of a five-point system including eight categories such as grounds, staff, safety and maintenance. Ratings and reviews are designed to attract prospective residents and increase the number of leads the property receives.
