This book is a collection of unpolished true events, teachings and short stories about my life

Author Peter L. Gregory saw his wife die on the operating table, was lost in a blizzard, and accidentally fired a shotgun at his mother when he was a boy—clearly his life is far from ordinary. And throughout the entire extraordinary journey, the author says that God has always been there, comforting him even through some of the toughest times of his life. In his new Xulon Press release, Laddie’s Grave: Seeking the God Who Hides Himself ($16.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-275-7; $26.99, hardcover, 978-1-61579-276-4), he reaches out to everyone who has ever been discouraged or disillusioned, wondering what it takes to be successful in their walk with Christ. This dynamic new book is a good read for those who struggle to see Christ in everyday life and find their temptations an insurmountable obstacle.
“This book is a collection of unpolished true events, teachings and short stories about my life,” the author says. “It is about the struggles I had understanding Christ’s Lordship plus some of the wonderful and terrible things I went through before and after I found the God who hides Himself. I hope it helps you in your walk with God.”
Originally, Gregory says, he had planned to write down some of the stories of his childhood and early adult struggles in order to give his great-grandchildren a better way to know who he was and what he believed. Over time, his desire for his children to know the truth about his real commitment to God expanded to include all Christians everywhere. He hopes that readers will come away from his book knowing that “no matter how bad it gets, how tough the times may be, or how desperate and discouraged you may feel in this life, there is true peace and joy in a firm commitment to Christ,” he explains.
