We are ecstatic to see SchoolFusion recognized as a finalist in the CODiE awards

SchoolFusion, a leading provider of K-12 website and communication solutions, announced today that they are a finalist in the 2010 CODiE Awards, presented by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).

Each year the CODiE Awards recognize outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education technology industries, and are the only peer-judged awards of their kind. This year, 88 products were selected as finalists from the more than 327 nominations submitted in the Education category. Nominated products underwent an intensive review by subject matter experts, analysts, journalists, and others with deep experience in the field.

“We are ecstatic to see SchoolFusion recognized as a finalist in the CODiE awards,” remarked SchoolFusion President, Stephen Shapiro. “To compete at this level with our industry peers is both a privilege and an honor.”

SchoolFusion is competing as a finalist in both the Best Education Solution and Best Education Community Solution categories.

The Best Education Solution category recognizes the best overall education technology solution which can be instructional, administrative, or for increased productivity at the preK-12 or postsecondary level. Judging criteria includes: ease of use, richness of functionality, program aesthetics, and fulfillment and functionality of key attributes.

In the Best Education Community Solution category, judges are looking to award the best educational website designed to provide social networking and education community support for students, teachers and administrators. Judging criteria is similar to that of Best Education Solution but with an emphasis on incorporation of Web 2.0 tools, as well as appropriateness for students with diverse learning styles and abilities, and teachers with diverse instructional settings.

“This is the twenty-fifth year we have recognized excellence in the software, education and information industries through the CODiE Awards program,” noted Ken Wasch, President of SIIA. “In this economic climate, companies are doing even more to innovate. SchoolFusion has demonstrated a commitment to innovation and quality that is reflected in their selection as a finalist for the CODiE Awards. I am pleased and proud to have them listed among the candidates, and I wish them the best in the final round of voting.”

Originally called the “Excellence in Software Awards,” the CODiEs were established in 1986 by the Software Publishers Association (SPA), which preceded the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). The program was created so that pioneers of the then-nascent software industry could evaluate and honor each other's work. Since then, the CODiE Awards program has carried out the same purpose - to showcase the software and information industry's finest products and services and to honor excellence in corporate achievement and philanthropic efforts.

All 2010 finalists may now be reviewed on the CODiE Awards Website at http://www.siia.net/CODiEs.
