The book was written primarily for teens and I hope that they will examine the choices in their own lives as they see the choices that the characters have made

A seemingly meaningless crime can have serious consequences, even in the island kingdom of Caladen, where crime is virtually unknown. The life of eighteen-year-old Arden is dramatically changed as he journeys to find the King of Kings and seek His judgment. Leaving his parents and Sarah, the girl he loves, Arden must travel across the sea to the “strange lands” only spoken of in stories—where good and evil wage war for the hearts and minds of the people. The adventure is not without danger, but Arden finds unexpected help from legends on his journey to find the King of Kings. Journey to the King of Kings, Book I: Exile ($15.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-442-3), by author Dennis Redline, is a fantastical story that will lead teens to God.
“The book was written primarily for teens and I hope that they will examine the choices in their own lives as they see the choices that the characters have made,” the author says. “I also hope that they will see that Jesus (the King of Kings) is powerful but loving and merciful.”
Redline says that his book, which was written to counter the Harry Potter series, is not a typical Christian fiction series of books. Written in the style of fantasy classics such as The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings, this book was dreamed up while the author—who is also an avid hiker—walked several trails near his home.
A Connecticut native, Dennis Redline is actively involved in his church and is currently working in sound ministry. He has also been involved in inter-denominational teen ministry for many years.
