We are living in a dysfunctional time. People are becoming more and more isolated, with computers often replacing family, friends, and neighbors. The “off button” is just within reach, and by pushing it, people will be able to make the effort to again engage in face to face relationships. In author Sandra Michael Park’s new release, Annie’s Creek ($20.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-913-8), readers will see how God uses those who surround them to profoundly influence their lives. The book tells the fictional story of Sarah McAdams, a Texas pioneer from the past, who is able to influence her modern day descendent, Professor Thomas McAdams, with eternal truths that change his life.
“I hope readers will identify with the characters of Annie’s Creek and see how the truths shared by Sarah McAdams can make a difference in how they view their daily walk with Christ,” the author says. “It is a story of hope which encourages them to block out the noise all around and lose themselves in the story. It will refresh their soul as they see how God uses events and people to teach His children eternal truths.”
Park, a native of Huntsville, Texas, has been involved in teaching ministries for more than 20 years. A graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she was exposed to many tales of early Texas history and its larger than life heroes, the author began writing this book when God planted the seed in her heart, and she hopes it will encourage God’s children in the choices they must make each day.
Sandra Park and her husband, Clyde, have three grown children and six grandchildren. They make their home on 36 acres outside of Bedias, Texas.
