Both villas and hotel pool suites have opened this June with impossibly high spec interiors and astonishing sea views – the Med simply doesn’t get any better than this. The only difficulty is choosing which ….
Brand new Pool Suites at the Kalkan Regency
[The Kalkan Regency has long had an outstanding reputation for the finest food in coastal Turkey – sourced from the hotel’s organic mountain farm – and it now offers beds to match. The brand new pool suites take uber-chic design to the next level spilling out to the rear of the hotel with uninterrupted views over the bay of Kalkan. The suites ooze romance with enormous beds big enough to lose your partner in, trimmed in leather and dark wood. Slate grey flagstone floors keep the rooms cool, leading into curvaceous open-plan bathrooms behind floor-to-ceiling walls of glass. Cosy seating areas are secluded by white linen blinds and draw-backs from where guests can watch flat screen TV from the comfort of leather bound armchairs. The stunning interiors lead out onto private pools with decking areas, overlooking the glorious expanse of sea. The surrounding green English lawns are straight out of Brideshead and, as night falls, escape into the stars using the private telescope – each suite is named after the constellation under which it resides.
Imposing new Korsan Koy villas in private bay
Jutting out into the bay 10 minutes west of Kalkan, is a wooded hillside leading down to an unspoilt cove which just happens to be home to two of coastal Turkey’s most sumptuous new villas – Korsan Koy. These beautifully designed 5-bed houses are bejewelled with Grecian pillars and acres of marble steps leading down to the front door. To the rear is the large terrace with kidney-shaped infinity pool and layers of decked steps tumbling down to the private bay and jetty below. Here, guests have use of private beach platforms and a 2-seater kayak to explore the crystal clear waters teeming with marine life. An astonishing sound of silence prevails, yet Korsan Koy has been built for fun and laughter, with a shaded games area housing a full size pool table and table tennis, while inside there is satellite TV and games console. The enormous terrace surrounding the infinity pool and Jacuzzi bath has colourful garden beds with ample sun loungers and seating areas for 12 guests. In fact, there is so much space in the entire villas it is easy to lose fellow guests. The villa owners are restaurateurs who offer an in-villa dining and BBQ service and a chance to sample delicious mezes and seafood kebabs.
