Space Time Insight™, the leader in visual, geospatial analytics applications software, today announced that its Space-Time Awareness Server (STAS) v. 3.1, has been validated for IBM’s Solution Architecture for Energy and Utilities (SAFE) industry framework, making it easier for energy and utility customers to adopt smart grid technology.
Space-Time Insight also today announced it has received validation for Ready for IBM Tivoli Software and will be included in IBM’s Open Process Automation Library (OPAL) catalog, based on successful integration with IBM’s Maximo Asset Management, WebSphere Portal, WebSphere Application Server, ILOG Elixir and DB2 Enterprise 9 software.
The Space-Time Awareness Server and Space-Time Composite Applications from Space-Time Insight are designed to bring the Smart Grid to its fullest realization and to advance the application of geospatial analytics and situational intelligence from energy & utilities, to oil & gas, to transportation and telecommunications.
Space-Time Insight captures and correlates multi-source data and displays the real-time status of assets, work-orders, people and events on interactive satellite images to provide full-context situational intelligence for more informed decision-making and fast action-taking from the same screen. Space-Time Insight’s geospatial, visual analytics specifically offer advances in context-aware, preventive and condition-based maintenance and field service.
Combined with IBM Maximo software, Space-Time Insight technology provides customers with:
- Geospatial, visual identification of work orders and priorities with on-screen geo-links, for more detailed information, video feeds and on-screen, pop-up scripts

- Condition based maintenance (CBM) sequences generated automatically from correlations of asset performance, attributes and history derived from Maximo
- Automatic creation of grouped work orders in Maximo by rubber-banding troubled assets in the STAS geospatial interface for dynamic scheduling and dispatch
