Enter a medieval fantasy world called the Land of Thorondia when Bumble—a creature who is part squirrel and cat—and Snap Jaw the Dragon—a cook at the Lizard Tooth Inn—embark on an adventure full of imaginative fun. Author Jim Dober’s enthralling new book, Hickory Woods Adventures: Waiting for a Bubble ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-688-5), follows the two friends as they learn the virtue of patience while making bubble soup and anticipating a show by the Juggle Brothers. While Snap Jaw is out in the market awaiting the show, he is tempted to betray his friend by a grumpy little worm. Will he do it—or will he learn the importance of making good choices in time to save his friend?
“The colorful characters in this story will help set a good example for children and point them to the Lord Jesus Christ,” the author says. “The story is unique in that it loops biblical messages and Scripture within a medieval fantasy theme. Kids will be enriched while they enjoy an imaginative tale.”
