Excellent sensitivity enhances food safety for food processors and packagers

Thermo Scientific APEX 100 Metal Detector

For cost-effective protection from the most common metal contaminants found in food production, Cole-Parmer now offers the Thermo Scientific APEX 100 Metal Detector. Using only food-grade materials in its construction, the APEX 100 meets the hygienic standards required by the food industry—including HACCP policy compliance.

The APEX 100 features dual frequency and gain operation for maximum application flexibility and is fully tested to meet IP69k/NEMA/ATEX requirements. The metal detector also uses traditional phasing or unique Intellitrack XR (IXR) technology to remove product effects.

Designed to perform for years with minimal maintenance, the Thermo Scientific APEX 100 Metal Detectors’ reliability is complemented by ease of use. Installation and setup is quick, with no special training required. Everything needed—electrical fittings, clear wiring, and mechanical mounting instructions—is included. An intuitive icon-driven interface features a step-by-step quick reference guide, multilingual help text, and autocalibration.

Users can match the APEX 100 exactly to their conveyor width and product height with the numerous aperture size configurations available. Optional accessories (such as MODBUS Ethernet/TCP communication module, MODBUS RTV/serial module, remote control mounting kit, alarm/fault warning lights and horn, field compression flanges, and photo eyes for product inspection trigger) also make customization easy.
