OpenClovis Solutions, Inc., the leader in Open Source High Availability (HA) Middleware and Tools, has signed a contract with Honeywell Aerospace to support the development of NASA's New Millennium Program Space Technology 8 (ST8) Dependable Multiprocessor.
Under the new contract, Honeywell will receive access to OpenClovis' unique, dual-license HA Middleware software platform, the OpenClovis Application Service Platform (ASP), to create its fault tolerance application.
OpenClovis' ASP, in conjunction with the Dependable Multiprocessor, aims to accomplish this very task. The OpenClovis ASP is the only Middleware on the market that supports the VxWorks and Linux hybrid platform, which allows for real-time embedded performance on top of a stable Linux platform. The company is also the only provider on the market that provides a suite of application design and development tools, and is renowned for its best-in-class technical support and overall expertise.

The OpenClovis ASP consists of an extensive set of management software modules running on a distributed, model-driven core infrastructure, and is aligned with the Service Availability Forum (SA Forum) Application Interface Specifications for high availability. Modules may be selected to best match the application and platform requirements. The OpenClovis ASP can be distributed across blades, shelves, and even racks, creating a seamless high availability platform and system management environment across heterogeneous network element building blocks. The OpenClovis ASP is suitable for a wide range of carrier grade network elements, and its usage ranges from broadband access devices for technologies such as DSL, PON, 3G/WiMAX/LTE, to metro Ethernet and edge switches/routers, IPTV application servers and IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) core elements.
