I hope that readers see their crisis as a journey that God will walk them through one day at a time, and that no matter how frustrating, there is light at the end of the tunnel

According to recent studies, cancer is the second leading cause of deaths in men, and it affects one in six men. These statistics were made all the more personal when author Darrell W. Parrish experienced them firsthand. Following a diagnosis of prostate cancer, the author wondered how he would ever emerge from the ordeal mentally and spiritually, questioning all the while whether he had prepared his family for the bumpy road that lay ahead. In the author’s new Xulon Press book, Cancer and Me: My Personal Journey ($11.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-778-3), he gives hope and encouragement to anyone going through not only prostate cancer, but also any life challenge.
“I hope that readers see their crisis as a journey that God will walk them through one day at a time, and that no matter how frustrating, there is light at the end of the tunnel,” the author says. “Also, I hope it will encourage men to get tested because there are so many treatment options when it is detected early.”
A self-taught businessman, Parrish’s story is about a man who achieved much success while enduring many physical problems throughout his life. Winning his battle with cancer inspired him to share his journey in the hope that he can encourage others. “I have been through the biopsies and radiation treatments and done extensive research to get where I am today, a survivor of prostate cancer!” he says.
Darrell W. Parrish currently resides in Sachse, Texas.
