Cambridge's new online practice tests for learners of English

When you consider the life changing opportunities associated with passing a Cambridge English test, it’s essential that ambitious students are well prepared for exam day. Passing a Cambridge English test can make all the difference in getting a new job, a place at university and it can help with an immigration application.

Hundreds of thousands of candidates preparing for Cambridge English exams each year can benefit from new online practice tests.

Developed by experts at the English language exams department of Cambridge University, the first of the new practice tests are for Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English: First (FCE). The tests are the only authentic online practice tests on the market for Cambridge ESOL exams. They will help students to prepare for exam day by familiarising themselves with the format of the real exam.

University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) who developed the tests believe that preparation is the key to exam success. Sharon Harvey, Assistant Director, Support Products and Services, says:

“When you consider the life changing opportunities associated with passing a Cambridge English test, it’s essential that ambitious students are well prepared for exam day. Passing a Cambridge English test can make all the difference in getting a new job, a place at university and it can help with an immigration application.”

Each Online Practice Test contains test material which has followed the same quality control procedures as the live exams and which is not available anywhere else. They include a full practice test and a detailed score report with feedback on the answers. The flexible approach allows learners to practise in conditions similar to those of the computer-based test or to try the Learner Mode which allows users to check their answers as they go through the test.

Sharon Harvey explains:

“We've designed the tests so they are suitable for individuals and for use in the classroom. They can be used to help students with their learning and give them a clear idea of what to expect of the exam itself.”
