Readers will enjoy a deepened awareness of Romans 8:28—all things do work together for good

It often seems as though suffering becomes the pathway leading to the highest awareness of God’s presence. That is why Xulon Press author Linda Warner wrote 15 short stories that symbolically illustrate the working of God in the midst of life’s difficult circumstances in her riveting new release, Into His Presence: Now and Forever ($15.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-111-5). Follow along with Nick as he and his brother Danny wander the long stretches of the Mojave Desert in search of rescue, or Matt as he watches bloody conflagrations ensue—symbolically heralding the decay of the world's cultural system, or Timmy, whose spiritual roots take form through a variety of devastating circumstances in his life. No matter the intensity of the struggle, each character discovers powerful victory in this life’s journey or transitions into ultimate victory—into the King’s eternal presence.
“Readers will enjoy a deepened awareness of Romans 8:28—all things do work together for good,” the author says. “This is the book’s goal. The stories illustrate how ultimate joy emerges out of pain. The contemplation of God’s working in our lives during trials results in hope.”
Warner, who has taught high school English since 1964, says that writing has always been her passion. It wasn’t until recently she was given the opportunity to develop the subject matter into material for high schools. “Because I’ve been an advanced placement English teacher, I just naturally wrote using rhetorical strategies taught in my high level English classes,” she explains. In addition to the book, the author is offering a teacher’s manual on CD for Christian high schools and homeschoolers, which comes replete with an annotated copy of the stories, worksheets for students with accompanying teacher notes, quizzes, and suggested discussion and writing topics.
