Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 28, 2010
Strandkorb & Meer, a leading retailer located in Munich, Germany has continously grown their business with roofed wicker beach chairs and expanded their sales to USA, UK and Australia for about six years. 2010 Strandkorb & Meer expects to reach a 20% share for the international sales of their tradtional German "Strandkoerbe".
With the beginning of the 20th century the roofed wicker beach chair had been well established as a usual furniture along the beaches of the Baltic and North Sea.. In the twenties the Strandkoerbe took off for a remarkable national and even international success story. Nowadays you can see the Strandkoerbe all over Germany, Europe and even in Japan.
Typically you will find two main design variations of the Strandkoerbe: the classic Baltic Sea beach chairs appear to be very soft and curved. In contrary straight lines and a square appearance characterize the North Sea shape.
Strandkorb & Meer as one of the leading retailers for these comfortable loungers ("Strandkoerbe") built by the most respected manufacturers in Germany has received a lot of requests for information about this traditional furniture since 2004. Many questions came up about the option to buy one and get it shipped to the door.
Consequently owner Corina Pries had most of the German webpages translate into English in March 2006. In the secon half of 2010 the English version will be updated again, "and then include the most recent offers German customers already enjoyed in the running season" explains Christoph Gold from CGMS, who is managing the marketing and PR tasks for Strandkorb & Meer.
In the meantime Strandkorb & Meer has already taken their business to another level: starting as a national retailer for German customers the company has expanded the shipping of Strandkoerbe beyond German boundaries. So far the international business with roofed wicker beach chairs rised from zero to more than 20% of the total sales amount.
But it remains a responsible task, as each and every sale is still the result of an individual consultation with the customer.
"Very specific points have to be discussed, especially of course the shipping costs, which always have to be calculated individually. There should never appear hidden costs or unwelcome surprises", says Corina Pries, owner and director of the company.
Another thing that has to be made clear is the continuing care of the Strandkorb. "The lifespan of your beach chair can considerably be extended, if you take care of a suitable "packaging", with other words: you should use an appropriate protection for your precious garden furniture. To protect your beach chair from bad weather with rough winds and stormy rainshowers, you will want to choose a beach chair jacket." Mrs Pries emphasizes.
Customers can expect to hold their conversation in English, mostly via email of course, but under specific circumstances it makes sense to connect on phone. "No purchase has to be made under pressure. Everyone may take their time to study the complimentary catalog, check the different Strandkoerbe on the company´s website and may feel free to contact Corina Pries personally."
Visitors to Germany who want to get a personal consultation beyond the usual business hours, can agree upon a personal appointment via email.
