Cohuman Rolls Out Intelligent Business Solution to Coordinate People and Manage “Need to Know” Projects

Cohuman Professional builds on the unique task prioritizing features of the Basic free version to enable companies to control access to projects.

“People manage themselves. Tasks organize themselves. Priorities organically emerge. Yeah, I gotta admit, it's a little bit like magic,” said Moses Ma, managing partner at NextGEN, Inc.

Cohuman, the first intelligent workspace for coordinating people and managing projects, today announced the availability of a Professional Web-based software package for business users who want more control and security over the information they share with their teams.

“Cohuman prioritizes individual and group tasks on-the-fly, and improves coordination and information-sharing with unprecedented transparency into each group member’s activities,” said Matthew Work, cofounder and CEO of Cohuman. “That said, there will always be a need for discreet communication, restricted to individuals on a need-to-know basis, and this is where the Professional version excels.”

Cohuman Professional features new permissions controls to lock down who can access each project and task, unlike the free, Cohuman Basic version where anyone in a task or project can invite anyone in. As with the basic version, Cohuman Professional syncs tasks across projects and people keeping the designated team members informed of shifting priorities by issuing real-time automated alerts on all activities including conversation updates, new file attachments, updated due dates and more.

Unlike email communications that are easily lost or misplaced, there is always a permanent historical record of a team’s communications within Cohuman. Each user has their own centralized web-based workspace where they can conveniently store, secure and view their projects and tasks as they are shared, assigned and completed.

“People manage themselves. Tasks organize themselves. Priorities organically emerge. Yeah, I gotta admit, it's a little bit like magic,” said Moses Ma, managing partner at NextGEN, Inc.

Cohuman is unique in that it facilitates and streamlines the decision-making process by automatically prioritizing tasks based on an algorithm that intelligently factors in emerging priorities, due dates and dependencies. The result is better group coordination and efficiencies.

“Cohuman addresses a common and costly frustration in the workplace,” said Work. “Our inbox is full of useless emails, our calendars are filled with useless meetings, too much time wasted due to poor communication from the top down. Imagine never having to attend another status meeting again, what’s that worth to your business?”

Features and Functionality
Each Cohuman Professional feature was requested by a Cohuman customer during the beta program.

Cohuman Professional Features allow the Professional user to control:

  •     Project Membership – members can no longer invite others into the project
  •     Access to Tasks by locking the followers field
  •     Target dates by locking the target date field
  •     Ownership of Tasks by locking the assigned to field.
  •     Task Association by locking it to a particular project.

Cohuman Professional users can still interact with the Basic users without requiring them to spend money or losing any existing functionality.

Pricing and Availability
$19.95 per user subscription cost. Control more tightly the info you are sharing with people. Cohuman Professional will be available on September 27, 2010.
