Long recognized as the premier destination for entertainment in northern Wisconsin, Lake of the Torches Resort Casino announces an incredible schedule of entertainment for the Summer of 2010 that features the chart topping music of Lou Gramm of Foreigner, the classic sounds of Motown with The Temptations, barbeque pitmaster secrets and the lip-smackin’ ribs of “Famous” Dave Anderson, the no-holds-barred action of King of the Cage, the crazy comedy of Carrot Top, and the legendary sounds of Chicago.

*Start off the Summer of 2010 with three extraordinary acts on Memorial Day Weekend. First, Lake of the Torches gets the weekend rocking with Vic Ferrari: Symphony on the Rocks on Friday, May 28. This symphonic rock ensemble features a fully-amplified, 29-piece orchestra performing music from the 1960s through today with Wisconsin’s favorite “house band”. Whatever the tastes, the ensemble will have the songs guests love and will be an experience all will remember. Next, the legendary Lou Gramm of Foreigner will take the stage on Saturday, May 29. The lead singer of chart-topping Foreigner, Gramm was the vocalists on 20 Top 40 singles, including “Feels Like the First Time,” “Jukebox Hero,” “Hot Blooded” and many, many more. Gramm also had success with his solo career, especially the 1990 Top 5 hit “Just Between You and Me.” Top off the weekend by treating all of the senses to the Backyard BBQ with “Famous” Dave Anderson during 2 shows on Sunday, May 30. America’s Rib King “Famous Dave” Anderson will share some of his barbeque secrets in a mouth-watering live cooking show where audience members will try all of the food he is preparing on stage. Families are welcome and the all inclusive ticket includes the show, a beverage, and a lip-smacking barbeque meal.
*Take a trip down memory lanes with the unforgettable melodies of Motown legends The Temptations on Saturday, June 19. This classic group was the first Motown act to earn a Grammy Award and produced such immortal tunes as “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.” This show will be a must for those who want to take a night back in time and feel the exhilaration of falling in love for the first time again.
*Don't miss a single punch, kick or submission as high impact King of the Cage: Chain Reaction returns to the Lac du Flambeau Amphitheater on Saturday, July 17. This national Pay-Per-View event will feature some of the best mixed martial artists from around the country battling it out in a series of intense cage matches starting at 7 p.m. And, don’t be surprised to see famous mixed martial arts celebrities and stars of TV, movies, and print making a guest appearance to the biggest MMA show in Wisconsin’s history.
*As the highlight of the summer, set aside a Sunday afternoon for the Grammy Award-winning band Chicago. They will perform one show on Sunday, July 25 at 4pm, in the beautiful lakeside Lac du Flambeau Amphitheater. Chicago has truly become a musical institution upon itself with a list of accomplishments that include 21 Top 10 singles, five consecutive #1 albums, 11 #1 singles and five gold singles. Known for their distinctive style that infuses rock, pop and jazzy instrumental sounds, Chicago charted such hits as “Saturday in the Park,” “Old Days,” “You’re the Inspiration” along with many, many more.
*Laugh out loud to the wacky antics of comedian Carrot Top during two shows on Saturday, Aug. 7. A true pop culture icon, Carrot Top is known for his irreverent observations and props he uses as his inspiration for zany one-liners. Straight from his nightly shows a the Las Vegas Luxor Hotel and Casino, He has appeared on such shows as The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel live and the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Carrot Top will perform at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
*Taste some of the best fish recipes and get some tips on cooking with the first ever Great Northwoods Fish Fry Fest on Friday, Aug. 13, and Saturday, Aug. 14. During this free event, restaurateurs, chefs, guides, and moms from around the region will cook up their best fish fries and shore lunches as they compete to be named best fish fry. Enjoy samples of these recipes and live music as we celebrate the fish fry, a true Northwoods original.
*Treat yourself and your special someone to a dazzling Couples Weekend with both the Men of X and X Burlesque. First, it’ll be a night for ladies on Friday, Aug. 20, as the Men of X take the stage with their chiseled physiques. The show will combine imaginative choreography that’ll have ladies screaming for more. Then, return on Saturday, Aug. 21, for X Burlesque. This sexy show features seductive moves and outrageous props such as bungee ropes and bathtubs to excite the crowd. From slow, sensual ballet-inspired routines to funky and energetic acrobatic numbers, this production will have hearts racing. On top of that, Lake of the Torches will be hosting events that weekend to help all of the single men and women in the Northwoods find that someone special. Join us for ‘Speed Dating” and “Meow Mixers” all weekend long.
*Feel the magic and wonder as the Viva Le Cirque troupe travels to Lake of the Torches on Labor Day weekend. Inspired by the internationally famed “Cirque du Soliel” shows in Las Vegas, this extraordinary group of artists and dancers will have the audience spellbound with their amazing dance, aerial acts and awe-inspiring balancing routines. The troupe will perform two shows on Saturday, Sept. 4, and a special family matinee on Sunday, Sept. 5.
