Lac du Flambeau, Wis. (Vocus) March 16, 2010
The colorful characters of the hit HISTORY television series, Pawn Stars, are bringing their antics and expertise in appraising memorabilia and antique treasures to Lake of the Torches Resort Casino on Saturday, March 20. Fans of all ages can meet Rick, Corey “Big Hoss” and Chumlee during a special free autograph session in the Hall of Nations Convention Center from 3:30 – 5 p.m.
Pawn Stars brings viewers inside the doors of a family-run pawnshop in Las Vegas, where three generations of men from the Harrison family— grandfather Richard, son Rick and grandson Corey— jointly run the business, with clashing and camaraderie every step of the way. This family lives and breathes the pawning business, using their sharp-eyed skills to carefully assess the value of items their customers bring in, objects ranging from the obscure to the truly historic. Pawn Stars air on Monday’s at 10pm ET on HISTORY. Visit http://www.history.com/pawnstars for more info.
The Pawn Stars team is led by Rick, who has run the pawn shop since the 1980’s and has a well rounded background and serious knowledge on the value of collectible items. He is often able to tell customers some of the history behind the items brought in and knows the true value of most items. Rick’s employees include his son, Corey, who’s worked at the pawn shop since he was nine. And, there’s Austin “Chumlee” Russell, a friend of Corey’s since childhood, who is often the butt of many jokes in the shop for his lack of good business sense.
Rick, Corey and Chumlee will also be helping staff at the casino with the “Pawn Star Payout” promotion. As part of the promotion, qualifying Club Advantage members were recently mailed (approx. March 3) a postcard in which they can then deposit into the drum at the casino main entrance from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. If selected, lucky club members will choose from ten different categories - one of three items that will be presented by the Pawn Stars. They can win up to $10,000 if they choose the category and items with the highest value.
Please note that you must be 21 to be on the gaming floor, but children accompanied by an adult are welcomed to the autograph session in the Hall of Nations.
