More than 20,000 of the world’s greatest motivators were surveyed in order to learn what makes them inspirational to others. Based on the results of this revolutionary study, Zenger Folkman has designed a practical, strengths-building workshop that cultivates the qualities of these unrivaled motivators.

Zenger Folkman is pleased to announce the release of The Inspiring Leader Workshop™, its new leadership development program.

Zenger Folkman, an industry leader with more than 75 years of experience in leadership training and development, analyzed the results of approximately 200,000 assessments completed by 20,000 managers. The findings became the basis for the bestseller “The Extraordinary Leader,” in which the phrase “inspires and motivates to high performance” was identified as the single most important trait for a leader to possess.

“What does this mean for you and your organization?” asks Jack Zenger, co-founder and CEO of Zenger Folkman. “Simply put, inspiring leaders motivate others to reach higher levels of performance, thus creating organizational success. This includes improving employee satisfaction, increasing engagement and commitment, boosting employee productivity, encouraging innovation and maintaining profitability.”

Based on those findings and extensive empirical data, Zenger Folkman created a leadership workshop that combines the classroom, surveys and a unique learning methodology that outlines how leaders at every level can become more inspiring. The workshop, which is based on the book “The Inspiring Leader: Unlocking the Secrets of How Extraordinary Leaders Motivate,” by bestselling authors Jack Zenger, Joseph Folkman and Scott Edinger, encourages leaders to cultivate the skills they need in order to inspire and motivate their teams to greater success and, ultimately, greater organizational profitability.

Organizational leaders at all levels — from C-level executives to first-line supervisors — will benefit from this one-day interactive, instructor-led experience that employs assessment, experiential learning, discovery, short lectures, group discussions and practice sessions with feedback in order to engage and educate established and emerging leaders. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will leave having each completed an individualized plan, with concrete goals and actions that can be used to generate personal changes resulting in more positive outcomes for their organizations.

“The real importance of The Inspiring Leader Workshop is the clear and simple road map it provides on how to lead in ways that release the seldom fully tapped performance power in an organization,” comments Michael A. Peel, vice president, human resources, Yale University.

Participants in The Inspiring Leader Workshop will increase their leadership effectiveness by:

  •     Learning the 10 attributes and behaviors that define inspiring leaders
  •     Discovering the six approaches the greatest motivators use to inspire others
  •     Practicing proven communication styles and receiving on-the-spot feedback
  •     Learning how to make genuine emotional connections in the workplace
  •     Understanding the ways in which people are inspired and developing the skills to personalize approaches

After completing The Inspiring Leader Workshop, participants will leave not only with the motivation to become more inspiring, but also with the competence to inspire and motivate and the confidence to try new things that will bridge the distance to becoming an inspiring leader.
