The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has been making kids feel special at Christmastime for over 60 years. We’re proud to be a part of that tradition.
State College, Pa (PRWEB) November 3, 2010
Facebook users can join Growing Tree Toys in supporting the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation this month with a special promotion. Beginning November 1, 2010, Growing Tree Toys will donate one dollar to Toys for Tots for each person who “likes” the specialty toy retailer on Facebook.
Growing Tree Toys is once again joining the United States Marines, helping to make the holidays brighter for the nearly 14 million U.S. children living in poverty. The Marine Toys for Tots program collects and distributes new toys for children at Christmas.
“We agree that it’s important for all kids to feel included during the holidays. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has been making kids feel special at Christmastime for over 60 years. We’re proud to be a part of that tradition,” says Managing Partner Kim Emigh.
Growing Tree Toys has supported its local chapter of Toys for Tots with specialty and educational toy donations for many years, but 2010 will be the first year that the company will also use Facebook to raise awareness and funds for the program.
“Toys for Tots doesn’t just provide children with new toys; it builds self confidence. We hope that when we donate a dollar in honor of each Facebook fan, people will be reminded of the importance of the program and look for more ways to get involved,” says Managing Partner Jon Emigh.
There are many other ways to aid the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in its mission this year in addition to “liking” Growing Tree Toys on Facebook. Civilians can make a monetary or toy donation, lend a vehicle for toy delivery, volunteer time and much more. Visit http://www.toysfortots.org/ for more information.
This partnership with Toys for Tots is a natural one for Growing Tree Toys, which sells learning toys designed for children from birth to age twelve. In addition to educational toys from popular companies such as Melissa and Doug, Calico Critters and Playmobil, Growing Tree Toys offers specialty toy brands including Eeboo, Green Toys and Beka.
To join the Growing Tree Toys/Toys for Tots fundraising project, Facebook members can visit http://www.facebook.com/growingtreetoys beginning November 1, 2010.
