Happening Saturday, September 17th, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware Day for Kids is a family focused and free event on the Wilmington River Front.

The Day for Kids is a national event that occurs on the third Saturday of September with family, food, and fun. It is a free community event taking place between 12 noon and 5 p.m., September 17th, filled with games, rides, activities, music, entertainment, and more.

With family schedules overly cluttered with school activities, jobs, and sport events, the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware puts on an event that allows parents and kids everywhere to pause and celebrate what is most important; each other. Every year, the third Saturday in September is set aside as a national opportunity for families to strengthen their crucial relationships while relaxing and having fun. With school recently begun and free time rapidly disappearing, it is a great time to get out and spend time with family and the community. Last year’s Day for Kids attracted 12,000 youth and families, so this year is sure to be a great time with tons of friends.

The event will feature music and performances all day long complete with a main stage and a music stage running simultaneously. Activities include Kid’s Zumba, a Hip-Hop Dance Class and Dance Contest, and appearances by Reggy “The Purple Party Dude”. Musical performances include “The Essentials” and “Remedy”. Be sure not to miss all of the great activities. Thanks to all the generous sponsors, Day for Kids is absolutely free and only a week away!

Come out for the family, festivities, and the food, including Grotto Pizza, Penguin Shaved Ice, Johnny’s Doghouse, and more! For more information including a detailed schedule of events along with directions and parking information, please visit the Day for Kids website at
