The contest is a good way to gauge where you are in your writing development and where you may need some work to reach your potential.
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) January 25, 2011
Quickly becoming known as a place for up-and-coming authors to grow their skills and build a following, AuthorStand has just announced their first annual novel contest, with over $1500 in cash prizes.
The contest is open to works of fiction over 50,000 words in length, from any genre. Unlike the majority of writing contests, all AuthorStand contests are free to enter and judged, in part, by real people, giving new authors a chance for free exposure and public feedback.
Previous AuthorStand writing contest winners include “Good Morning, Magpie” by Zachary Gilpin, “Where the Sky Ends” by Gloria Piper and “Violet Rothko—A Novella” by John Grabowski. These titles and many others can be downloaded for free on AuthorStand.com.
AuthorStand Founder, Joe Niewierski says, “AuthorStand.com is a place where aspiring authors can get the feedback they need to grow, from real readers and other authors. The writing contest is a good way to gauge where you are in your writing development and where you may need some work to reach your potential.”
Editor’s Choice award comes with a cash prize of $1,000 and the First Prize award comes with a cash prize of $500. Call for entries ends July 31, 2011 and judging runs through November 15, 2011.
AuthorStand.com is also currently running a short story contest with $500 in cash prizes.
