Holly Roehl, a licensed education psychologist, has launched a new consulting firm, and related website focused on providing educational consulting and assessments for students and families who require in the Los Angeles and North Orange County areas.
“Private assessment and consultation provide an opportunity for parents to gain a clearer understanding of their child's academic and social needs,” said Ms. Roehl. “Although parents may request that an evaluation be completed by their child's school; special education law mandates that all available general education resources be exhausted before considering special education services, which often delays assessment.”
Ms. Roehl provides a variety of services to her clients, including:
Psycho-educational assessments - assessment includes academic, processing, social/emotional and cognitive evaluations to help determine the possible nature of learning difficulties and/or social emotional concerns.
Social/emotional screening - screening involves systematically looking for signs that a child may be delayed in one or more areas of social-emotional development, such as communication, autonomy, affect, and interaction with people.
Educational counseling - counseling services address a variety of issues as they relate to the child’s educational functioning. Ms. Roehl uses a strength-based approach to counseling with a special interest in motivation.
International consulting - College or graduate school selection and admission process for international students seeking admission to higher education in the United States can be complicated, we help students and families determine the best schools that fit their abilities, interests and aspirations.
